I Need Thee Every Hour

Today we laid one of my favorite people on this planet, my Grampa Haderlie, to rest in the Orem Cemetary.

It was a beautiful day.

It was a beautiful funeral.

But I think my favorite part was playing the violin with 4 of my cousins in the granchild musical number during the funeral.

I have so many cousins in the Haderlie side I've completely lost track. There are too many.

I love them all though. It was SO SO wonderful to see some of the cousins that I haven't seen in . . . years. Terrible, I know. The above picture is of my cousins Martha, Amy, Katie, and Alissa. We are all the same age and we hardly ever see each other.

And this song was so wonderul. I Need Thee Every Hour. One of my favorites. My Aunt Gayle wrote the violin part, which was BEAUTIFUL and I got to play it with my inspiration (Nate Shumway), his younger brother Taylor, then beautiful Amy and Alissa. Also, cousin Matt was on the bass. It was so gorgeous!

There was such a beautiful Spirit there.

It was just a beautiful day.

Ashokan Farewell

Today, at the age of 88, Morris L. Haderlie passed away.

My Grampa was so amazing. Over Christmas break, my family took my grandparents out to dinner. That was the last time I told him I loved him. He couldn't remember me. But he was one of those sweet old men that, in asking my name, would say "Who's the pretty lady over there?"

My Grampa was born in Star Valley, Wyoming and grew up working on the H-triangle bar ranch, our family's brand. He married Esther Ann Minzghor and had eight children, one of them being my dad.

He really like this song, Ashokan Farewell. My dad and I would play it all the time -- Dad on guitar, me on the violin. When we played it for him, he would usually get tears in his eyes. It just touched him.

So today, my mom called and told me the news. I cried as soon as she told me. And when I got back to my apartment I played this song in memory and as a tribute to my Grampa.

Let me reiterate. Families are forever. And I will see my Grampa again. Thanks goodness for the Plan of Salvation.

I Love To See The Temple

Jenifer and I went to the Logan Temple one day to walk around it and take pictures. But guess what, it was SO cold and so we didn't stay long.

The night before I visited Temple Square with my amazing roomates Jenifer and LeAnne!
You know what? All of them are so pretty. Temples, I mean. And who WOULDN'T want to get married there? They are like CASTLES, which is perfect for a princess like me.
I love to see the Temple
I'm going there someday!
But seriously, I'm SO grateful for temples. There's something about this season that just makes you so much more grateful for things. As we celebrate Christmas this year, we celebrate without my Gramma Savage and without my Uncle Blaine. It's is such a wondeful thing to celebrate our Savior's birth. Because of Him and his glorious sacrifice for us, we all are comforted by the fact that we will see Gramma and Blaine again. Because of temples, and the fact that my Granparents were sealed together for time and all eternity AS WELL as my own parents and Blaine and my Aunt Marleigh, I know this is possible.
Familes Can Be Together Forever BECAUSE of our Savior, Jesus Christ, whose birth we celebrate on Saturday.
Merry Christmas!

Perfect Two by Auburn

Once upon a time, there was girl named Sarah Anne and she had a roomate named Jenifer. One day, they were watching a movie called "Juno" where there was the most EXCELLENT line:
"YOU ARE THE CHEESE TO MY MACARONI."
Fantastic, right? Anyways, THEN Sarah happenstanced upon the most AMAZING song EVER. And today, she has listened to it at least 20 times. No joke. And here are the fabulous lyrics:
You can be the peanut butter to my jelly
You can be the butterflies I feel in my belly
You can be the captain, and I can be your first mate
You can be the chills that I feel on our first date
You can be the hero, and I can be your sidekick
You can be the tear that I cry if we ever split
You can be the rain from the cloud when it's stormin'
Or you can be the sun when it shines in the mornin'
Don't know how I ever could be without you cause boy you complete me.
And in time I know that we'll both see that we're all we need.
Cause YOU'RE THE APPLE TO MY PIE
YOU'RE THE STRAW TO MY BERRY
YOU'RE THE SMOKE TO MY HIGH
YOU'RE THE ONE I WANT TO MARRY
Cause you're the one for me
And I'm the one for you
And take the both of us
And we're the perfect two
You can be the prince and I can be the princess
You can be the sweet tooth and I can be the dentist
You can be the shoes and I can be the laces
You can be the heart that I spill on the pages
You can be the vodka and I can be the chaser
You can be the pencil, and I can be the paper
You can be as cold as the winter weather,
but I don't care as long as we're together
Don't know how I could ever be without you cause boy you complete me.
And in time I know that we'll both see that we're all we need.
Cause YOU'RE THE APPLE TO MY PIE
YOU'RE THE STRAW TO MY BERRY
YOU'RE THE SMOKE TO MY HIGH
YOU'RE THE ONE I WANT TO MARRY
Cause you're the only one for me
And I'm the only one for you
And take the both of us
And we're the perfect two.
CUTEEEEEEEE! Right? Right? Yes.
Well, my roomate and I think this song is adorable.
And NOW, I think you had better watch it:
This is made by some BYU students . . . including my friend Clara Compare!
Enjoy amigos!

Lightly Row

Yes. It's true. I have graduated from the flute to the clarinet. And I don't know about you, but I think I sound kind of . . . oh, what's the word . . . AWESOME? Ha. Alright, so MAYBE I've got a ways to go. But I love this learning all the instruments thing! It's a BLAST!
